  • Shampoo= 1,474
  • Soap= 106
  • Combs= 1,000

Businesses + Food Nights (Bball + Stag)= $36,283.56
Class Collections=$4,417.07
Caroling= $1,646.94

TOTAL= $59,947.57

*Baker explain how totals work + share some stories of who has been nominated

Goal= 1,000 hygiene kits (valued at $10 each)
  • Bag to hold items= $3
  • Toothbrush= $2-3
  • Toothpaste= $2-3
  • Shampoo/Conditioner= $2 (putting 2 in each bag)
  • Lotion= $2-3
  • Soap= $2
  • Bonus Materials: feminine products, floss, razors, deodorant, mouthwash, chapstick
Value of what we are collecting=$15-18
What we are saying it's worth= $10

Also consider:
  • When families adopt, we average $100 spent per person in family. Most families spend twice as much (we don't add that to our total
  • When teachers chaperone or donate their time, we don't add that to our total ($35 per teacher at event) (DJ= $500 dollars)
  • If anything, our numbers are lower if we valued all those things
Why did we decide to value toothbrushes & toothpaste higher?
  1. We knew these items would be harder to collect out of everything and wanted to give more of an incentive
  2. We wanted to find a way for kids to feel like they were "tricking the system" and donate. Most of our kids who don't normally donate, are now donating because they feel they got away with something (it worked!) Our totals stay the same, but it gets kids to donate goods we really need
  3. We also knew kids would donate these items quickly to get the points and then any donation after that we wouldn't count (anything over 1,000)- so we will actually have more toothbrushes than we've value.
  4. We lowered the value of other things to even the numbers out (like soap and lotion)
1. Class Collections (After roll, shoutouts & calendar)- 10 points a day- for being on time + class collections (5 points for tardy)
  • Go to teacher
  • Bring all the donations directly back to Baker's room (don't count in hallways)
  • Count your money and total on your collection envelope (total on envelope includes= value of hygiene materials + cash)
    • Toothpaste= $5 (large), $3 (small)
    • Toothbrush= $1 (goal met)
    • Soap (liquid or bar)= $2
    • Shampoo= $1 (goal met)
    • Tissue travel size= $2
    • Chapsticks= $3
    • Lotions travel size= $2
  • After it is totaled, drop your donations off to the front of the class and bring Emma your envelope
  • Once the envelope is checked you can take it back to your teacher
2. After Collections

  • Ashley & Hannah- print thank you cards + cut out
  • Stag group- put away lights & stag things onto the shelves on stage
  • Hygiene Group- organize hygiene products (maybe assembly like 10 for examples)
  • Lucy, Maeve, Keylli- organize presents donated
  • Put up new ribbons on leading teacher's door
  • Any business calls?
    • MATC- could we get a scholarship for one of our students who is hoping to go?
